Just Dance

Happy Weekend Friends! You know about the awesome Whimsy CAS  Program don't you? CAS means Customer Appreciation Set. Each month a new and exclusive set will be released. You will receive one set when you spend $75 on one single retail order in the Whimsy store. This set is not available to buy yet. See all the details  HERE .

The set for August is Let's Dance and illustrated by Denise Lynn. I love this set, its so feminine and girly with the beautiful Tutu and ballerina shoes. When I saw this set I knew instantly what to do with it and that I wanted to use shades of pink.....of course!

To create this card I painted a watercolor background using distress inks (spun sugar, worn lipstick and victorian velvet) onto watercolor paper. I let it dry and stamped the tutu with black Versafine ink. I then cut it out, put it on a piece of fun foam and adhered it back on to the  background. With gold watercolor paint (Gansai Tambi) and white pigment ink (Avery Elle) I sprinkled on to the image and background to add some interest. The sentiment (from the same set) was stamped with black Versafine ink. Pink and white sequins give a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by,

I compel you .....

Hi everyone! It's time for some more Whimsy inspiration. Dracula I compel you is the name of the Stamp set I feature on my card today.

To make the star shaker I used the Pierced Stars Die Set. I cut out a star frame from double sided tape using two of the star dies (the second and the third). I used the same two dies to cut out a matching frame from designer paper. The larger of the two star dies was used to die cut a star shape from an acetate sheet. I then adhered one side of the double sided tape star frame to my card stock. Filled it with sequins, stars etc., and adhered the acetate star shape. Using Rangers Multi Medium Matte I adhered the star paper frame on top of the acetate sheet.
I stamped the Dracula image and cut it out with the matching die from the Dracula I Compel You Die Set.

I colored the little Dracula with Copics. The sentiment is part of the Dracula I compel you stamp set and the word die 'Sparkle' as well as the cute little bats are all included in the Dracula I Compel You Die Set.

Day 3 of the Whimsy July Release

Hello to Day 3 of the Whimsy July Release! I planned two cards today but will show you only one right now and will be back on the weekend instead with my second card :-D So make sure to stop by again in the next couple of days ;-)

I love this clear set called Dracula Bite Me illustrated by Deb Davis. It makes great Halloween cards as well as really fun birthday cards. As I usually do not send out Halloween cards I made a birthday card. This set also coordinates with matching Dracula Bite Me die set. Background and coloring was done with Distress ink - markers and ink pads. The sentiment is from the set and the bats are dies from the matching die set.

Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release

Welcome to Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release.  I have again two cards to share with you today. First a 'bewitched' Halloween card featuring Teen Witch from the Krista Heij-Barber collection.

Sentiment is from the NEW Simple Sentiments clear set by Jessie. The die cut bats are from the NEW Draculas Coffin die set. The papers I've used were all scraps. I have tons of scraps and made it a mission now to use my designer paper scraps when ever possible to diminish that huge pile. :-D
I colored with Copics and tried to add some yellowish moonlight shine on the witch by adding yellow to my coloring.

I also decorated the inside. I haven't done that in years I think but I had so much fun doing it again. I just love the completed look it gives a card. I also have matching DP on the back with my "made by" stamp. The only reason I stopped doing this on all my cards is because it is so time consuming. The stamped borders btw are from the NEW FADoodles set by Faye which I absolutely LOVE. The bats are from the Dracula I Comp[el You set which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable.

Copic colors used:
Witch Coat, Hat and Shoes:
C10, C08, C06, C04, Y11
R89, R85, R83, R81
silver glitter pen for buckles
Skin:
E000, E00, E11, R02, R00
Hair:
YR65, YR61, YR18
Moon:
Y000, Y00, E40, E43, BV00
Sky:
BV00, BV02, BV000, B41
Broom: E40, E43, E47, YR21, YR24, YR27

Here is my second card - a Franken Birthday Shaker Card

The clear set is called NEW Franken Bad Hair Day and it's illustrated by Deb Davis. The sentiment and the cake are from the same set and cut out with the matching NEW Franken Bad Hair Day die set (sold separately). The coffin die which I used to make the shaker part is from the NEW Draculas Coffin die set. The doodled corners are from the FADoodles set again. I colored Franky and the cake with Copics.

Whimsy Stamps July 2017 Rubber & Clear Release

It's here! The Whimsy Stamps July Rubber and Clear Release! In stores now! To celebrate this new release with lots of cute, fun and 'scary' images I have two cards to share today:

Please meet NEW Mr. Mymmy. He is from the rubber collection and illustrated by Krista Heij Barber. Sentiment and and Candy are included with the stamp. The cute bats are die cut using the NEW Dracula Bite Me die set. Copics were used to color the image.

My second card features NEW Paper Dolly Polly by Deb Davis/Amped2Stamp and the matching NEW Paper Polly Dolly die set.

There are several outfits for Polly in the set and each can be cut out with matching dies. It is super fun to put this together! I colored her with Copics. The bee dress was stamped onto yellow mini polka dot designer paper and then I added some depth to it using colored pencils. I thought a shaker card would be perfect for this image :-). The sentiment is from the same set.

Please join us and celebrate with us in our FB group

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with some more release creations!

Whimsy Stamps June Release - Day 3

Here I am today with my last card for the Whmsy June Release Celebrations. Deb Davis has created some fun clear sets again for this release. One of them - If I Only Had a Brain - I am showcasing on my card today.

I made a little fun zombie birthday card :-)

I used the large polka dot from the Polka Dot Fun set, stamped the moon with VersaMark ink and clear embossed it. I then sponged the background with Distress inks (tumbled glass, chipped sapphire, dusty concord, black soot). I sprinkled some white color mixed with some Wink of Stella silver glitter over the background. I stamped the grass (from the Friendly Flower set), the zombi image from the If I Only Had a Brain set and part of the sentiment with black ink. The word Zombody was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with silver embossing powder. As a final step I added mini star sequins.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like the new release!

Whimsy Stamps June Release - Day2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps June Relase.  I have two cards to share with you again today. My first card features a new rubber stamp by Elisabeth Bell - Tommy and Toby.

I colored again with Tombow Dual Brush pens. This time I used them more like I would use my Copics and not so much as watercolor pens. To blend I used the Tombow blender pen and only at the end I went over it with a damp brush to blend even more. I like the fact that you can blend these water based pens with each other as well as with the blender pen. As for the paper I used a Mixed Media Paper pad from Strathmore. I wanted a really smooth surface (no watercolor pad) for this technique. The mixed media is ideal because it can be used also with watercolors...if it doesn't get too wet. Damp is fine though. The paw die is also from the new release from the Paws to Remember die set.

My second card is CAS style (once again) and I used the NEW Paws to Remember clear set by Deb Davis.

Again I used Tombow Dual Brush markers and this time on hot press watercolor paper to creat this little scene.

I've added some shine to the sky. It's hard to see in the photo but it has such a beautiful soft sparkle to it. I used my Wink of Stella clear brush pen for that. It's just perfect for this little card.

Summer Breeze Enamel Dots  completed the card.

Whimsy Stamps May 2017 Rubber and Clear Release

Welcome Friends and Happy Wednesday! It's release time at Whimsy again! The new rubber and clear goodies are out as well as new dies! Click here to see the whole release in the store.

I have two cards to share with you today to celebrate the new release. Both cards are on the simpler side....here comes my first card...it features the new clear set Franken Schmutz by Deb Davis and the matching Franken Schmutz dies set.

I colored with Copics and the sentiment is included in the set. I stamped the background using the Distressed Background and Ink Splats clear set. The enamel dots are from the Summer Breeze Enamel Dots set.

My second card showcases the cute Can you belief this rain rubber stamp from Kirsten Winkelbauer.

This time I colored with Distress inks - Markers and Pads. Sentiment is from the Pretty Big Flowers set which was released in April. Unfortunately you can't see all the shimmer I added with my Wink of Stella clear pen and a clear sparkle gelly roll pen. It's so pretty, I like the sublte shimmer. The background is part from an older Bo Bunny paper pad and the other panel I made the background using distress inks and the smooching technique as well as the Distress spritzer tool and sprinkled with water.
