Normal is Boring!

Hey folks! Here is a fun card I made with products from Whimsy Stamps February release.

I stamped these cute NEW 'So Weird' animals with different colors of ink onto mixed media paper. I colored them and cut them out.
Then I used the Harlequin Stencil and a pink ink to create some texture on my card base.
I cut out the Weird-O frame from black cardstock. The dots that are included with the Weird-O frame set were cut out from shiny pink cardstock. The sentiment and frame are from the NEW Handmade Weirdo clear stamp set. I layered and glued all parts onto the front of my cardbase and used the shiny cut out dots as embellishments.

Harlequin Stencil

Hey Peeps! I have another card I want to share with you today. It is a mixed media style card where I use the NEW Harlequin Stencil from Whimsy Stamps in combination with other recently released products.

To create my background I used the NEW Harlequin Stencil and Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin and Seedles Preserves. I added more texture to my BG using the Mixed Media Bits clear stamp set and pigment ink in gray, black and gold as well as red distress crayons. More details were added with a gold, black and white paint pen.

Hiss Off - Whimsy Stamps New Release

Hey All! Whimsy Stamps September 20th release day is here! I am showcasing the ATC Hiss Off clear stamp set today. I wanted to show how versatile this set is and used it to create a card and not necessarily a ATC.

I combined the ATC Hiss Off clear stamp set with the Halloween Creature Stencil. I stamped/inked everything in black onto lime green cardstock to make it really pop. The sentiment is included with the STC Hiss Off set and was cut out using the Comic Speech Bubbles die set.

Thanks for visiting!

Hugs!

Images were colored with Derwent Inktense pencils and fussy cut. The sentiments were die cut using the Comic Speech Bubbles die set. Hakuna Matata - Whimsy Stamps July 1st Mini Release

Hey All! It's the first of the month and that means it is time for another Whimsy Stamps Mini Release. The products hit the store shelves at midnight and they are ready for you to be viewed. Here are some awesome inspiration projects from the DT - scroll down to see my card.

When I saw this awesome lion family stamp 'mixed-media' jumped right into my head. So I went ahead and created a simple mixed-media card in an A2 size.

I first made the background using two earlier released stencils: Giraffe and Tiger Stripes. My background panel was cut from Strathmore mixed media cardstock and I used Memento Dye inks (Peanut Brittle, Potters Clay) and the NEW Whimsy blending brushes to stencil the BG. They are perfect for inking and the smooth and dense white bristles make for a soft and even ink application. I then stamped the image with Memento ink in Rich Cocoa onto the stenciled BG.

I cut out a mask for the image, adhered it and sprinkled the BG with Rich Cocoa and Peanut Brittle Memento inks. After everything was dry I used the Giraffe stencil to add a bit texture with NUVO Moonstone Glimmer Paste. The sentiment is included with the rubberstamp and was stamped onto kraft cardstock with Memento in Rich Cocoa.

Think Happy Thoughts

Happy TGIF Crafty Friends! I am totally in love with the super cute little monster clear stamp sets Whimsy released earlier this months. They are from the Crissy Armstrong Collection and are called Monster Birthday and Monster Moods

On my card I used one of the little monster fellas from the Monster Moods clear stamp set and colored with Ohuhu Alcohol Markers. I created the rainy background using the It's Raining 6x9 stencil and the NUVO Glimmer Paste in Esmeralda Green. The puddle the little monster is jumping in joyfully was created with another stencil called Puddles 6x6 stencil. I first inked the puddle with Distress Oxide inks, cut it out and then added Stickles glitter glue for some bling. The sentiment is one of the  Positives sentiments, stamped with Versamark ink onto teal cardstock and white heat embossed. To add the stitching on my sentiment banner I used one of the Envelope Edger dies.

Hello Spring!

Hi Everyone! Back again today with a colorful Slimline card featuring the NEW Spring Bird clear stamp set by Krista Hei-Barber from Whimsy Stamps.

To create my top-fold slimline card (3.5" x 8.5") I inked a panel of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks that I wanted to use for my background. I used orange and yellow tones and kept the middle of the panel lighter for a glowing effect. Then I used the Farmhouse Greenery stencil with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to add some texture.

The images are stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper. I colored using Caran D'Ache Luminous pencils and fussy cut the images. A few clear confetti sequins and dew drops finish off my card.

Here are the Whimsy products I've used:

Thanks for stopping by today and I will be back soon with more inspiration!

Live Laugh Love - Mixed Media Tag

Hey Everyone & Happy Sunday! Welcome to my blog today where I would like to show you a mixed media tag I made using all Whimsy Stamps products. Whimsy has such a huge variety on stamps that make it easy to create in the mixed media style. My mixed media style is more on the cute side. I am not really a huge fan of the non-cute stamps and/or steampunk stamps.

One day I was browsing Pinterest and I saw a mixed media tag that inspired me to create something similar with just Whimsy products. Especially after the release of the Build a Fairy Garden die set.

Here is the link to the tag where I got my inspiration from!

I started out with a white tag cut from mixed media paper. I then covered the tag with a layer of very light pink acrylic paint. I then added some texture with structure paste and stencils (brick and honeycomb - linked below). I added color with my Gelatos and a water brush and more texture and interest to the backgound with FADoodles clear stamps and Distress Background stamps (all linked below).

The hearts and flowers were stamped and fussy cut. The other elements from the Build a Fairy Garden set were die cut and colored with Karin Markers. For the Fairies and the grass I used Distress Embossing Glaze.

The stem of the tall mushroom was drawn onto mixed media paper and cut out. I used the stem die as guide, just made it longer so it would fit perfectly on my tag. Some details were added with white gesso, black fine liners and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.
